What is truSculpt?

TruSculpt iD is an innovative technology that uses radiofrequency energy for fat reduction. How does truSculpt technology work?

TruSculpt iD technology works for fat reduction by using radiofrequency energy to therapeutically heat fat tissue leading to the destruction and elimination of unwanted fat cells in the treated area over time. Once the fat cells are gone, they don’t return. Maintaining a healthy weight helps ensure fat cells that remain do not increase in size.

What happens during truSculpt treatment?

When you arrive at a truSculpt treatment appointment, you lie down on a comfortable chair in a relaxing room. The truSculpt iD system uses six hands-free handpieces (each one is 40 cm²) and two different hand-held handpieces (one is 40 cm², and the other is 16 cm²). Most treatments below the neck utilize several of the hands-free handpieces simultaneously. They are held in place by a transparent cummerbund, so we can treat multiple fat accumulations during the same treatment. The 16 cm² handpiece is used primarily on the neck or other smaller areas of the body. The handpieces emit radiofrequency energy to target specific areas and ultimately damage unwanted fat.

Most truSculpt iD treatments will take 15 minutes, but some might take longer depending on the number of targeted areas.

TruSculpt iD is noninvasive, and most patients say the procedure feels comfortable, almost like a hot stone massage. Many patients achieve their desired results after one treatment, but Dr. Matt may recommend more than one treatment, depending on your treatment area and desired results.

What should I expect after the procedure?

After truSculpt iD treatment, you can resume your normal routine immediately. You might experience some transient redness at the treatment site, but that typically disappears within an hour or two. You might also have slight bruising, lumps, swelling, or tenderness at the treatment site, but these side effects are less common. Over time you notice smoother body contours, better muscle definition, and a tighter, more toned physique.
